Our February birthstone collection brings together jewellery set with amethyst, the purple birthstone for February birthdays. It includes raw amethyst necklaces and huggies, round bezel pendants, mini heart and charm necklaces, tiny climber studs and rook hoops, statement earrings, bangles, a raw stone bracelet and an initial necklace, in 18ct gold vermeil, 18ct gold plated and 925 sterling silver.
Amethyst is a variety of quartz, and its name comes from the ancient Greek for not intoxicated. It has long been linked with calm and clear thinking. Each product page lists the exact stone, and our meaning guide explains what each birthstone means.
Your questions, answered
What is the February birthstone?
Amethyst is the February birthstone. It is a purple variety of quartz, ranging from soft lilac to deep violet.
What does amethyst mean?
Amethyst has long been linked with peace, clarity and sincerity. The ancient Greeks named it amethystos, meaning not intoxicated, as they believed it kept the wearer clear headed.
Are your February birthstone pieces real amethyst?
We use a mix of stones. Many pieces are set with amethyst CZ, the gold vermeil stud earrings feature natural amethyst, and the raw styles have an uncut look, so each product page lists the exact stone.
Is amethyst a good Valentine's gift?
It is a lovely choice for a February birthday that falls close to Valentine's Day, and the purple suits gold and silver equally well. A heart necklace or heart studs carry both meanings at once.
Can I return it?
Yes. Website orders can be returned free within 30 days of receiving them, unworn and in their original packaging. Anything ordered from 1 November can be returned until 31 January, and engraved pieces can only be returned if faulty.
