18ct Gold Vermeil Plated Actual Drawing Or Handwriting Necklace

How to Choose a Christmas Jewellery Gift She'll Actually Wear

The best jewellery gifts are the ones that get worn every day, not saved for best. If you are not sure where to start, these simple questions will help you choose a Christmas gift she will love, in the right metal, the right size and with a meaning behind it.

1. Gold or silver?

Look at what she already wears. If her everyday rings and earrings are gold, choose 18ct gold vermeil or gold plated pieces. If she wears silver, choose 925 sterling silver. Not sure? A piece that layers easily, like a fine chain or small huggie hoops, works with almost anything.

2. Choose a meaning

A gift with a meaning feels personal without needing engraving. Three of the most loved are:

  • Her birthstone: a stone chosen for the month she was born. Find hers in our Meaning Guide.
  • The evil eye: a symbol of protection, a way of saying "I'm looking out for you". See our evil eye jewellery.
  • A heart: the simplest way to say I love you.

3. Pick a piece that is easy to size

Necklaces, earrings and bracelets with an adjustable chain are the safest choices when you do not know her size. Rings are lovely, but if you are unsure, check our ring size chart or choose an adjustable style.

4. Think about how she will wear it

  • Every day: small huggie hoops, a fine birthstone necklace or a slim bangle.
  • A statement: 50mm hoops, a bold paperclip chain or a rainbow gemstone necklace.
  • To stack: tennis bracelets and fine chains look beautiful layered together.

5. Set your budget

There are thoughtful pieces at every price. Browse gifts under £50, under £75 or under £100.

6. Make it ready to give

Add luxury gift packaging at checkout for £5 and your piece comes in a gift bag with ribbon, along with a polishing cloth and a warranty card. A personalised gift note is free on every order, and we can send it straight to her door.
